I Want Healthcare, yes I do. I Want Healthcare. How about you?

Well, here I am in the Sanford Herald! On Tuesday, I heard about The Americans for Prosperity coming to our city. They were trying to show opposition of Pres. Obama's healthcare reform bill.
If you know me, you know I support healthcare reform and I'm not going to let this group make it look like everyone opposes his plan. So out I went with Nico on my back, Eliana in the stroller and Sammie by my side.
We held up 2 signs stating,
"My parents survived cancer because of government run healthcare" (referring to my in-laws) and "Healthcare premiums up 120%.....Wages up 29%. How long will you last?"
Boy, did I get some opposition. You would think because I was the ONLY one out there, that people would've left me alone but they didn't. Some people told me to,
"Go back where you came from!"
This I thought was too funny, because I'm from the south.
Others came up and said accusingly,
"You're not American, are you?"
or
"You're not from North Carolina are you?"
I just answered them and they went away.
The best one was a lady who decided to stand right in front of me, trying to block my sign. I shifted to the left and then she got in front of me again. We went back and forth until she stepped on my feet because she was so close! I said,
"Don't hurt me."
which got a waaaa-like baby sound from her. Then after we started to argue, someone from the organization came over and told us we shouldn't be interrupting the protest. I said,
"Well, she is stepping on my feet!" (I felt like I was tattling to the teacher). So he pulled her aside and told her not to disrupt my free speech.
After that I, for the most part, stood quietly with my sign..... well, except for Sammie and Eliana yelling,
"We're Canadian" in the beginning.
There was also one time when the speaker was making some sort of anti-healthcare reform statement and we booed.
