Sittin' in the Shop

Just sittin' in the shop and don't know what to blog about. I think Paul needed some company so I came in at lunch and am still here at 4:45 pm. Made a little trip to the coffee shop around the corner (walking of course, because the gas prices have gotten too high), had a mocha cappacino and an apple juice for Sammie. While we were there, I think Sammie talked to 5 total strangers. And if they don't respond she gets louder. And then if they continue with what ever their doing and don't respond she gets even more mad and asks me why they are not talking to her. Most people are captived by her forwardness.

Then we walked back and I did a cross-word puzzle.........well, put it this way-I filled in a couple words and gave up. I'm horrible at cross-word puzzles. I just fill in whatever words come to mind until I come to a place where nothing matches. I am amazed by people who can finish a cross-word puzzle; very smart.

I want to go home and put some make-up and cute clothes on so when Paul gets home, I look inviting but he wants me to stay in the shop. 'Singing the Lonely Song'

Do you ever dress up just before your husband gets home from work just to make him look twice?

Well, I guess I do have enough to blog about! There go my brain....give it long enough and it will come up with somethin'

I have thought of dolling myself up but I never do because I am in middle of making supper and it would be all over my clothes by the time I'm done. (Is that a good enough excuse?)

Lynne,
Well, I guess you got an overwhelming answer. I was going to say the same thing but of course in the southern way, sticking sweet.

What I do is set a time in the afternoon before Paul gets home and make sure that at that time I go take a shower and get myself looking great. Like when Paul gets home at 6:00pm I will get ready at 4:00pm and then if I need to, put an apron on to keep my clothes from getting messy. And even if you do get something on your outfit, Ron still sees the effort put into it.

And if you're worried about the boys; set up their favorite movie (the one that glues their eyes to the set) and then you will have an hour or so to do yourself up. Believe me, you will not only make your husband happy, you will also feel great about yourself.

Blah blah blah blah

Well, I hear ya, I understand, but I feel like I'm running on no energy as it is . . . but I do try . . . to at least get out of my pj's before he gets home.

Lynne,
The one thing I've noticed is how many times wives, when they have kids, stop putting their focus on being wives and all their focus on being moms!
I have fallen into this category before and I have to mentally make myself change!!
Kids will grow, they will learn and as long as you keep their focus on God, they will turn out just fine...............but marriages don't work that way...........it is a constant effort that we, as wives, have to put forth to make our marriages better, not to keep the status quo.
It's kind of like having your money in a bank account. Every month the bank takes a small fee out....and if you never deposit anymore, after a while, it might be a long while, you end up with NOTHING!!
