A New Stage

I officially stopped nursing yesterday! I always have two sets of emotions-excitement that it's over, Eliana is growing up, and I have more freedom; sadness that I will not have that close down time where she just looks up at me and lays in my arms.

11 months is really good. The most I did was 9 months and that was with Evan. We will see how far I go with Alyssa. She's such a big girl but she does not take the bottle so maybe I will be at it for the long haul until I can get her on a cup.

I feel for you. Like you say, it will give you more freedom. That is always nice. Except if she wakes up in the night. It is so comforting to know I can nurse Alyssa at night quickly.

Lynne,
I also enjoyed being able to put Eliana back to sleep quickly by nursing. As she grew, she was also comforted by just being held and rocked. That seems to work now if she wakes up.
