What I like about the holidays
(This picture was taken by my mother-in-law out her front window just about a week ago)With Thanksgiving next week, I quickly start to get in the holiday spirit.
And next week I'll be cooking the whole meal for Paul, Sammie and myself. Turkey, Stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn (for Paul), cauliflower and carrots with a homemade cheese sauce, cranberry sauce, creamed onions and celery with pimento; if some of the sides sound wierd, they are all family traditional fixin's and if you tried them, you would love them.
I would like to starve myself beforehand so I can shove more in at dinner, but I don't think the baby inside would enjoy that too much!
Then afterwards comes Christmas shopping! The past two years we have not been able to buy Christmas presents so this year I'm looking forward to buying a few things.
And I'm really hoping to be able to go to Canada this year for Christmas. Part of it is to let Sammie interact with her cousins and Aunts and Uncles, but I also haven't seen them in a couple years.
Pray that our business does tremendously well, so we will be able to go up there.
What are your favorite holiday things to do?
